Smart Home & Commercial Automation Systems
How much does a smart home automation system cost?
There are many factors that go into creating a smart home. How big is your home or estate? How many rooms do you have? How many people live in the residence? What is most important to you? What systems will we include? Is your home built or are you in the design phase? How old is the structure and what is it made of? How important is performance to you? Do you want mostly hidden equipment?
Because of all the variables, our systems at Creative Sound and Integration are completely bespoke and very hard to put a concrete price on.
Here are some general ranges, but costs can vary wildly.
Home Network – $1,800 to $4,000
Automated Shades – Average around $1,500 to $2,000 per shade
Automated Lighting – Starting Around $10,000 and up
Whole-House Audio – Starting at $8,000
Distributed Video System – Starting at $10,000
Security Perimeter Security – Starting at $3,500
Media Room – Starting at $10,000
Home Theater – Starting at $15,000
Most of our jobs start at no less than $15,000 and can go up into the millions. We recommend using the budget calculator below to get a rough idea of costs before we meet so you know what to expect.
Calculate your budget using the Home Technology Budget Estimator
Creative Sound & Integration is proud certified member of the Home Technology Association (HTA) which certifies quality integration companies based on their business track record.
As a consumer, you should know that there is a certification program for our industry. It's administered by the Home Technology Association. Only about 10% of the companies in this industry will meet the standards to pass this certification. Our company is in that top 10%. You should make sure that any company who bids on your project is HTA Certified. It's hard to figure out who the good companies are, the HTA does a great job of weeding out the bad apples.
HTA also created a great budgeting tool for you, the customer, to quickly get an idea of what to budget for your home automation and audio video system in your new home. Below is a button to go to that tool and answer a few questions about your project and get some rough numbers from an unbiased organization.
Pro Tip: Hire a Home Technology Professional Early in the Planning Process
For anyone starting a smart home automation project, one of the most valuable tips is to engage a home technology professional who is certified by the Home Technology Association at the earliest stages of your new home’s design or construction. Involving a technology integrator from the blueprint phase can significantly reduce costs and help keep the project on schedule. By planning the ideal locations for technology and wiring before the walls go up, we can enhance the design, layout, and overall functionality, ensuring that the technology seamlessly integrates into your home and serves your needs effectively.
